The Girl's Guide to Senior PHotos | Prep Guide

#1- Bring lots of choices! There is unlimited wardrobe changes, so bring the whole closet! ;) Make sure you are comfortable in your clothes, if you look in the mirror and are only comfortable with your arms in one position or from one angle… Keep those outfits at home. Don’t be afraid to text me your outfits and ask my opinion! I have boys- so I love to be part of girlie things like this!!

#2- Solid Colors work best! Try to avoid a lot of crazy/bold prints and patterns. Try to keep any patterns bigger than a dime. Otherwise they create a weird appearance on your final pictures.

#3- Consider wearing dresses or tops that partially or fully cover your arms. Especially if you concerned about how your upper arms look. Long sleeves look the very best.

Try to avoid tank tops or tube tops unless you absolutely love it!

#4- Darker jeans and shirts tend to be more slimming.

Try to pick outfits/shirts that are more form fitting.

#5-Throw in a jean jacket- They go with almost everything!

#6- Some fun props to bring... Sunglasses, cute purse, prom dresses, your BFF,

sport uniforms and balls, musical instrument, dance costumes, awards, artwork…

#7- Accessorize! Bring lots of jewelry (simple, less bling tends to better), hair accessories, hats, scarves, and bring lots and lots of shoes! Be sure to include a cute pair of heels and/or wedges. Heels really make you stand out and look glamorous! Plus, they make your calves look amazing in full body shots!

#8- Bring or wear a nude or white cami… they work great for layering. Also, it makes it easier to switch shirts out in public. Hide those bra straps and wear undergarments that don’t show through your clothes.

#9-If you think you look better with a little color- Airbrush tans done by a professional are the safest and most effective way to get a beautiful bronze (not orange) glow. Or make sure we schedule your session late summer or early fall.

#10- Wear your makeup a touch darker than normal.

*EYES- Especially your mascara, this will make your eyes POP! False eyelashes look great!! However, do not overdo your eyeliner.... It will actually make your eyes appear smaller.

    * CHEEKS- light blush to add some color. Avoid bronzers or glittery blushes.

    * EYEBROWS- be sure to pluck if needed. If waxing, be sure to do it a week prior to avoid the redness.

    * LIPS- I love a glossy lip… stick with a berry or brown. Avoid dark colors, frosts, and glittery lipsticks.

Be sure to pack your makeup bag for touch ups along the way. Even if you are not comfortable wearing makeup, have your best friend apply a light coat         to help even out your skin tones.

    * HAIR- Apply extra hairspray, this helps with those flyaways! Try to avoid a drastic hairstyle change before your session. This can really add    unneeded drama to your life! ;)

    * NAILS- Remember your fingers and toes will be noticeable in the pictures.

Throw on a fresh coat of nail polish or spurge and get a mani/pedi! (I know you really wanted an excuse to!) Neutral colors work best.

#11- Group your outfits together on hangers including the jewelry and accessories you want to wear with it. Make sure your items are wrinkle free and free of pet hair.

#12- Glasses…. Some glasses can produce a glare. The safest option is to check with your lens provider and see if they would loan you a similar pair without the lenses.

#13- Get rest the day before and drink lots of water.... AND Don’t Stress! We are going to have so much fun!
